Dalmatia is a historical region of Croatia, spanning from Pag island in the north to the Bay of Kotor in the south. It comprises most of Croatia’s coastline and is administratively divided by Zadar County, Šibenik-Knin County, Split-Dalmatia County and Dubrovnik-Neretva County. The most populated cities are Split (160,577), Zadar (70,779), Šibenik (42,599) and Dubrovnik (41,562). There are 79 islands and nearly 500 islets in this region.
